Cover Reveal: Every Blade of Grass

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since the last post and hope this one finds you all well.

Writing was slow this summer, but it's getting back on track. I'm actually working on two projects right now.

One of them is the third book in the Homeland series. This installment is titled 'Every Blade of Grass' and is proving to be very enjoyable to write. Why? If the title sounds familiar, you can guess what's in store...

I'll post a preview soon. But first, here's a look at the cover idea I like best so far.

What do you think?

  1. You'll get it hot off the press, Hank.
    Thank you for your support.

  2. I check for book three every week for months! I ran across the first two books in the series and devoured them in days. You're a fantastic author, and I can't wait for "Every Blade of Grass" to release!!

    1. Thanks, Jay. You just made my day. I can't tell you how encouraging your words are to me.

  3. Just a thought or 2 Rob: for those of us familiar with the Gadsen Flag, we understand that "Don't Tread on Me" is part of it. For others, however, the additional words might throw them. By showing the entire flag, though (perhaps ruffled in the wind) with the phrase legible, there should be no confusion.

  4. Hi Hank. Great to hear from you. I see what you mean. People could think the 'Don't Tread On Me' is a part of the title. If I can't find a waving flag, what would out think about editing out the motto from the current cover?

  5. Or maybe making the motto smaller?

  6. Yes: exactly.

Of those 2 options, I think editing it out altogether might be the best choice.

Have you considered farming out your cover designs? Matt Margolis at Logotecture did a couple for me and I am really pleased with the experience. He made them look nice, worked quickly, and was very reasonable about pricing. Just a suggestion, because the more I think about it, the more I want to see that Gadsen Flag streaming on your cover--and I know he could make it look slick.
